Ricky James grows the purple tops along with sweet potatoes in our loamy PeeDee soil where they are very well suited for winter growth. The Hakureis are grown by Clem Swift in the mineral rich Pisgah clay and silica based alluvial soil along the Davidson River which translates into massive flavor.
