Born into a family of Kiyomizu yaki potters, Sawada has over 20 years of experience working with clay. Technique & Design The mug features a milky white kohiki (white slip) surface. The animal motif is carved directly into the slip using a scraping technique, rather than being painted with a brush. Characteristics & Handling This is a compact mug
