Control decks want to be able to slow down the game by handling early aggressive plays that might do critical damage prior to mass removal, they want to be able to do multiple things in a turn and they want to be able to snipe out tenacious creatures that might survive a mass removal spell
Chulane, Teller of Tales Every Druid loves mana, but they dont all make it themselves
And dont overlook creature lands like Den of the Bugbear, Faceless Haven, or Mutavaultthey give you extra threats without costing you a spell, which is perfect when you start to run low on gas
You will have to make hard choices which feels great
