I mean, it is useful if you can get it off, but for monsters which cannot be Special Summoned by other ways ( like all good bosses ), you're only wanting to be ending your turn with it if you cannot further your plays
(And even then, some of this is debatable.) You might opt to include X Speeds rather than Leafs for a nearly-as-effective retreat strategy that doesn't eat up Supporter Card usage on a given turn
If Giant Rex is banished, it can special summon itself, which is useful for extending combos, as it is hard to negate this effect for being used because it is used while the card is banished
