Unfortunately, changing the color of a spell on the stack doesnt reset what color spell had last been played (from Gatherer: If a spells color was changed while on the stack, use the color at the time it was when you started announcement, not as it currently is on the stack or as it was at the time it resolved) but for most part this hidden gem does a great job of simply buying time

You just need to download the new version, copy over the decks from the old one, and start the new version

Your opponents always have the option to discard, thus you should expect them to make that choice most of the time, as the idea of whatever construct, robot, or vehicle coming down for free will scare your opponent
