Although it is not as versatile as Archdruids Charm, its incredibly mana-efficient
That being said you could definitely hook up: Nalia de'Arnise + Edgewalker + Orah, Skyclave Hierophant + Phyrexian Altar So you could potentially keep casting Clerics off the top, sacrificing them for mana, returning them to your hand, recasting and saccing, recurring and creating death triggers, and just generally going nuts

Unlike most cards, where you are limited to only four copies per deck, with Persistent Petitioners, you can have as many as you want
It's super flexible, as you can use it when your own horde swings in, or when another player goes in on the offensive (they don't even have to be sending everything/anything at you.) However, while I can see this card working pretty well in any blue/white/green tokens deck, it's obviously best with an MTG commander that cares about birds
