But Little Man Down should almost always have an impact

Pygmy Giant: This creature has an ability that allows you to exchange control of Pygmy Giant and target creature you control until end of turn

Spending a bunch of time and resources stacking +1/+1 counters on creatures can prove fruitless when a single timely board wipe undoes all that work

You also have the option of morphing it instead, in case you want to surprise your opponents at the last second
