My main experience of Ugin is that he has to -X when he comes down and usually for at least 4 which leaves him incredibly vulnerable to burn, man lands, haste dorks and so on
This card has a lot going on for an option that only costs three ink, starting with a Shift option that can be deployed if an action card is discarded
Granting fear and multiplying creatures turns otherwise modest boards into lethal swarms, so its a simple but effective payoff for fully committing to the creature type
It counters so many creatures that are staples of the competitive wing of our format, like Dockside Extortionist
While [[Stubborn Denial]] turns into a hard counter when you have 4+ power creature, it can only counter non-creature spells
Discarding this and reanimating with the fang on turn 3 is devastating since it creates two 4/4 angels with flying and is hard to interact with
