As a general rule, its much easier to use a deck that has Pokmon which use no more than two different Energy types, or you may find it difficult to draw the right Energy to use in the game
As of late, WotC has positioned Pioneer as one of the main formats for those who enjoy playing the killer decks, with Pioneer being the focus of several Regional Championships this year (with Modern, also a non-rotating format, enjoying the spotlight during the second half)
This led to the next jump in designwhy limit the change to just in play
Multiple factors converging simultaneously: The Pokmon Company's aggressive overproduction creating supply gluts, too many chase card variants diluting collector attention, macroeconomic pressure reducing discretionary spending, and speculation fatigue after years of unsustainable growth
I use two Ruinous Path now in Esper Control, which frees up room for other cards
