Both of these reward you for playing Merfolk and both generate a ton of card advantage and +1/+1 counters, but despite these similarities there's some key differences: Hakbal of the Surging Soul is one of the most powerful explore engines in the game: you can easily explore 4+ times per turn with very little setup
some are incredible, others pretty weak
That's a big ramping of up to five free mana and a free card
If you ask me, its fascinating that such humble little packsoriginally intended for casual gamers and fantasy fanscould turn into coveted museum pieces worth thousands (or hundreds of thousands) of dollars
And remember: tokens aren't cards!) When you cast Divination from your hand, you're losing a card (Divination itself), but after it resolves, you've gained two cards in your hand
