It grows more like a bush with multiple branches. The leaves, cherries, and beans are smaller and more pointy oval shaped hence the name Pointu! The Laurina Pointu Variety is a natural mutation of the Bourbon side of Arabica. It was first discovered on the tiny island of Reunion Island, just off of Madagascar.
