A Substantial size, unmarked sterling silver case with an attractive repousse design on the front of a countryside scene with a windmill. The back has a decorative hammered finish and cut out design. The sides are also cut out to reveal the striking surface of the matchbox. Matchbox covers were an ideal piece for seamen and fishermen as they kept the matches protected from the elements.
