That being said, Ancient Grudge still sees a lot of sideboard play in more uncommon Modern builds such as Temur Aggro, Death's Shadow, and even some Jund builds

Its been years since I last played a game where neither me nor my opponent put a counter of any kind on the board, so the ubiquity of proliferate commanders makes them eternally playable, and more often than not, fairly powerful

That does mean the Instructor will slot into already-existing +1/+1 counter decks, giving those strategies a wrath insurance plan of sorts
