You can cast it as a Force Spike for 2 mana and counter your opponents 2- or 3-mana play, and you can put any amount of mana into it later to counter bigger things

She has an attack trigger to spend two Golgari colored mana and then make a 1/1 Snake with deathtouch

While resolving Zodiark's second ability, you choose half the non-God creatures you control (rounded down), then each other player in turn order does the same

Getting to discard your hand and draw equal to your devotion to red can be a great source of card selection for Boros decks that keep their hands topped up or play Land Tax and Gift of Estates

Id say its one of the better companions for a doctor EDH deck
