In the Astral Radiance, I finally pulled the trigger on playing Arceus / Duraludon since it felt like a good call, and got top 2 at the Bilbao Special Event thanks to it.) More importantly, though, the fact that its a simple, but competitive deck (and also reasonably cheap!) also makes it a great deck for new players, or casual players looking to enter the competitive scene
To quest, I simply exert HeiHei
Her +1 can mill 5 and then toss any number of dorks milled that way into your hand, great card flow and works best in a deck dense in creatures just like her +2
You can also be attacked, which means that Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger can still eat the top 20 cards of your library even if he normally wont deal any damage to you
Other good ones I run, apart from what what was already mentioned: All of these have been fine before any sort of Goblin synergy was introduced, and they don't all point at beatdown (though most do), allowing me to keep red interesting
