I expect to invest my July 9th column about why Golos is, in my opinion, yet another example of a badly designed Commander and I'll make the case for why I believe that Golos and similar cards are wrong for the format.
A balanced setup usually includes: Targeted removal to stop early engines and problem permanents A few board wipes to reset faster decks and punish overextension From there, close with a clear win path overwhelming flying combat, damage multipliers, or lifegain-based pressure that opponents struggle to race
Legolas's Quick Reflexes is definitely worth consideration
The latter is the one you need to watch out for
at the end of Gen 6 before being brought back in Mega Brave [M1L] and Mega Symphonia [M1S]
This ability was first introduced in Lorwyn block with cards like Mirror Entity, later revisited in Modern Horizons , and now most recently in Kaldheim , fleshing out the concept of changelings and giving us a ton of fun tools to work with
