At first I thought this would just be one article, but after pushing over the 3,000 word mark and not being close to done, I decided it might take two (or even three) articles to cover everything
It doesn't blow up all nonland permanents like Hour of Revelation, nor does it have the flexibility of selection like Austere Command, so Vanquish doesn't straight-up replace those types of wipes, but I know that when deciding what wipes I want in my White deck I'm going to start with Vanquish the Horde first then choose a flexible wipe as my second slot
The cards like Death Cloud that I rate far higher than most others do somehow seem more reasonable to be the case than for when I rate a widely regarded card such as this so poorly
The stability in some sets and the shifts in others reflect Magics dual nature as both a collectible and a game with constantly evolving strategies
This set feels like a classic Magic set updated to fit into where the game is today
You can trigger the ability yourself, or force opponents to draw so Jeff Goldblum will add more cards to the exile pile for players to grab for themselves
