Description

One of the most important commercial cider varieties in Canada

long and conical with pronounced ribs giving it the suggestion of a sheep's nose

enjoying some of the characteristics of its famous parent the Cox's Orange Pippin (although Fiesta is much easier to grow than the Cox)

crisp and juicy with a creamy flesh

ribbed and sometimes oblong

Bulmers Norman Year:1 YR One of the most importantA medium bittersweet cider apple. Large conical yellow green fruit, ripens early mid October but doesn't keep well. Valued for its vigour and heavy cropping. One of the many varieties imported into the country from France in the early twentieth century by Bulmer's Cider Company. Has a hard tannic taste and fast fermenting juice. Permission to use photograph by Kevin Garrod (Monnow Valley Cider) is gratefully acknowledged.
